Nectar

We deliver projects on Nectar's Shopify site, all designed to improve the customer journey and experience, and increase sales.

The Brand

Nectar is all about one promise - the best sleep of your life, guaranteed - with a Shopify site that showcases its extensive range of mattresses, bed frames and bedding.

The brand partnered with Radiant on our Ongoing Success service, so we could iteratively improve the store with the objective of increasing conversion rates.

Product Page Rebuild

A full product page rebuild improved the customer experience, helping boost conversions and average order value.

As part of this process, all mattress product pages were revamped as bundle builders, letting customers create their entire bed, from mattress and frame, to bedding and pillow cases. All items in the bundle automatically adjust to match the mattress size that the customer selects, ruling out user error in the process.

Similarly, a ‘build your own bed’ functionality also lets visitors customers divans, using different sections to create a bespoke product.

The bundle building additions to the Nectar site help increase average order value - it’s now easier for customers to not just buy a bed frame or pillows, but to create the entire bed or divan.

Improved Delivery Information

Customers want to understand and have access to delivery dates for big ticket items like beds. The delivery date on the Nectar site was only visible at the checkout stage, which was too late - we wanted customers to be able to see this information earlier in their journey, so we amended it so it appeared a stage earlier, in the cart.

We needed to incorporate a lot of logic in order to achieve this: weekends and holidays needed to be taken into account for delivery dates, plus different products had different lead times, so there was lots to consider.

We developed a checkout extensibility app which talks to the cart, enabling the extension to ‘remember’ and pull through the date from the cart to the checkout. This means the customer has access to more information earlier in the buying process.

Finance Offering and Signposting

Nectar wanted to add finance options to give customers flexibility to buy in a way that suits them. We added DivideBuy, to enable their customers to spread the cost.

As well as adding the option to the site from a functionality perspective, it was also important to signpost that financing was available, so we also added messaging sitewide to promote it.

We implemented a DivideBuy widget on key product pages to enable customers to calculate payments, and we also developed a custom tooltip for FCA compliance.

A second app extension was also developed by our team, which enabled DivideBuy messaging in the cart.

Competitor Pricing Detail

Another strategy to increase sales was the implementation of ‘total value’ indicators across the site.

This is a clever feature that aggregates 3 competitor prices, and displays and contrasts that pricing with Nectar’s. It’s effectively an automatic price comparison, saving the customer time in researching other sites, and demonstrating the value of the Nectar products.

We created and set up variant metafields to show the price - this is then periodically updated automatically via a third party tool so it;s always current. We drove home the value of Nectar’s products versus its competitors by making the ‘total value’ pricing visible across all touch points on the site, including product pages, the side cart and checkout.
