Best Shopify Apps to Increase Sales

The Shopify App Store is packed with over 8,000 apps, all designed to make ecommerce better for merchants and their customers. There are lots of categories in the store, including store design, management, orders and shipping, marketing and conversion.

One of the categories is ‘selling products’, containing apps that merchants can take advantage of to help increase sales in their store. In this article we’ll take a look at a selection of these apps that can help you boost sales!

Yotpo

Yotpo as a platform has really developed in the last 5 years and now encompasses a lot of different functionality. For the purposes of this article though, we’re looking at the ‘product reviews and UGC’ (user-generated content) app.

It allows you to collect customer reviews using AI-powered review widgets, which help to encourage other shoppers to make their own purchase. It also lets you display reviews and star ratings on search engine results pages.

This has a free plan, with limited functionality, then $15 and $119 per month variants with increasing features.

Videowise

This is an app we’ve implemented on some recent client site launches. It’s a great way to enable shoppable video on your site to engage shoppers. You can also create video quizzes and shoppable image galleries. As well as uploading videos, you can import clips from TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

Price-wise, it’s a more expensive solution. It has 3 plans: Starter at $99 per month, Scale at $299 and Pro at $499. Key differences include number of permitted interactions, levels of support and how many stores you can connect.

FAQKing

Grabbing attention with its slightly cheeky name, this app enables you to create product FAQ pages and a help centre for your Shopify store. You can have FAQs on their own page or on product pages, and it’s easy to implement with no coding knowledge.

It’s a great way to help make sure you’re giving customers all the information they need about your products, services, shipping, returns and everything else to persuade them to hit the ‘buy’ button.

The free plan enables FAQs on a separate URL, while the $4.99 per month plan has more customisation options.

Easy Student Discounts

This is a great app to help you tap into and capture the student market. Free to install (it takes 2.5% commission on the value of all purchases made through the app), Easy Student Discounts enables you to appeal directly to people studying at universities all over the world.

Students register using their uni email address which is verified in the app. They then receive an email link which gives them access to a unique discount code. The dashboard allows merchants to configure the discounts and see how much revenue is being generated through the app.

Klaviyo

Klaviyo allows you to connect with your customers in sophisticated ways across email and SMS. You can create segments and triggers, make use of a plethora of templates and automations and send campaigns designed to increase your sales.

The app itself is free to install if you have a small number of contacts, but external charges may be billed by Klaviyo as part of your account with the platform itself.

Here’s a typical review:

“Klaviyo has made sending promotional emails a breeze. Love how easy it is to add new emails through Shopify POS and through our website. Copying campaigns and blocks super easy too, saving time and optimizing our reach. Highly recommend!”

Cooee AI

Cooee AI makes use of real-time user behavioural data to create AI-powered pop-ups. User intent is analysed through 200 micro-behaviours, and based on the customer’s level of intent, they are uniquely engaged with through custom onsite campaigns, to help nurture and educate them towards a purchase.

The starter plan comes in at $199 per month. A free trial is available which will let you see the app in action and understand the value it can drive for your business.

Wide Bundles

This app is designed to increase your average order value by creating quantity breaks (volume discounts), bundles and offers. It lets you create a whole load of customised variants (with over 50 variables)  so you can create the offers that make sense to you and your audience.

It also integrates with upsell apps, side cart apps and page builders for enhanced flexibility.

The Basic plan comes in at $18 per month, and for $36 per month you get the Advanced plan which enables more templates, badges, and customisation.

LoyaltyLion

It’s well-known that loyalty programmes are a staple way to encourage customers to keep coming back and to become brand advocates. LoyaltyLion lets you tailor your own programme to suit your business, using loyalty points and rewards, incentives for referrals, reviews and social media engagement.

You can get the app for free if your store has fewer than 400 monthly orders - if you sell more than that, paid plans start at $199 per month. You’re able to keep an eye on the value for money based on the analytics that let you see how much revenue is being generated and how much repeat business you get through your various loyalty schemes.

Instafeed

If you’re spending a lot of effort on your Instagram profile, it makes sense to integrate it into your Shopify store, which is where Instafeed comes in. You can customise how and where it appears, and tag products to create shoppable video and photo feeds.

The free version enables you to choose your layout and use reels and photos. The Pro ($6 per month) and Plus ($20 per month) plans upgrade to enhanced features like auto product tags and feeds, analytics, unlimited feeds and the ability to filter your posts by hashtags. You can also get a 3 day free trial to see if it does the trick for you.

Recharge

Recharge provides an all-in-one solution for subscription growth. If you’re looking at moving to a subscription model, this could work really well for your brand. Customer portals, subscription management, dynamic bundles, tiered discounts, and analytics all come together to create a comprehensive subscriptions solution for businesses of all sizes.

The app has a Standard plan at $99 per month and a Pro plan for $499 per month which gives you advanced retention tools and bundling capability.

Back in Stock: Restock Alerts

Don’t lose sales if products are out of stock! Make sure you retain them with back-in-stock email and SMS notifications to ensure customers can order directly from your store when products become available again.

You can customise button messages based on customer preferences, device type and language. This app lets you grow sales with features that can manage notifications on a large number of SKUs, including variants.

The various plans run from free up to $69, and the main difference between them is the number of notifications that you can send, from 10 up to 5,000, plus other benefits like integrations with email platforms.

Downpay

Remove a further hurdle from your customers on the brink of purchasing from your store by offering them payment flexibility if your products have build times. This app lets you implement partial payment, deposit, or pay later options, so you can collect the payment balance when the product is ready to ship.

There is just one price plan for this app - $9.99 per month, plus 0.3% on orders made through the app.

Web Accessibility

It’s important to make sure that your Shopify store is inclusive and accessible by all users, regardless of their abilities. Not only is this the right thing to do, but the more people that can browse and buy from your store, the better for your business.

This app helps make your Shopify store accessible for everyone, in compliance with the ADA and adherence to WCAG. It optimises for screen readers and keyboard navigation around your site, has been built with disability communities, and is quick and easy to install on your store.

There are three price tiers: $49 per month, for websites under 1,000 pages, $149 per month for websites under 10,000 pages and $349 per month for sites under 100,000 pages.

Hopefully those apps give you some food for thought about different ways that you can encourage more sales through additional functionality and options for your customers. Our advice is to make sure that any app you install is right for your business, your customers, and provides value for money for you.
