We worked with Bird & Blend Tea Co. to overhaul their wholesale operations using Shopify B2B, creating an easy-to-use, effective storefront for both the brand and its B2B customers.
The Challenge
Bird & Blend had been using an app from the Shopify App Store for their B2B sales operations, but it wasn’t designed for businesses of their size or complexity and wasn’t working to the required standard. The result was that 80% of the brand’s wholesale orders were being managed manually, bypassing the website altogether.
Not only this, but the app was also impacting the website speed, further cementing the need to find an alternative solution. That solution was to build out a separate B2B store for the exclusive use of their wholesale clients on Shopify Plus.

What We Did
Radiant created a separate B2B wholesale storefront on Plus, using Shopify B2B.
We cloned the D2C store so existing B2B clients would immediately be able to navigate the new site, and make use of the native tools and features to ensure the B2B operations worked to Bird & Blend’s specific wholesale requirements. For example, using the in-built quantity and catalogue rules, they were able to set up custom pricing for specific companies.
We also helped migrate the relevant data over from their D2C store, so that it would populate the new segments of Shopify’s API. This improved usability in the backend in managing day to day operations. This was executed by creating custom scripts in conjunction with using Matrixify’s form templates.
We were also able to tailor functionality so that product availability varies depending on the customer viewing the site.
The B2B store uses Shopify’s new customer accounts, and is restricted to pre-agreed wholesale customers only, locked using Shopify’s ‘Restrict access to B2B customers only’ setting,and hidden from Google Search so that only B&B’s exclusive clients can access the site.
The result is a more effective wholesale arm of the business, which works beautifully for the brand and its customers. With orders automated through the site instead of being managed manually, that time can be used strategically to grow the business, instead of processing orders.
