Open Role
UI/UX Designer (4-5 Month Contract)
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to join Radiant on a full-time, fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave for 4–5 months. There may also be an opportunity to transition into a permanent role, depending on workload.
You’ll collaborate closely with our wider team, playing a pivotal role from day one across a variety of brands and projects. At the start of the contract, you’ll work alongside our Senior Designer, with training and support to get you up to speed on our processes.
We’re a small but growing company, so we’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills while delivering meaningful work for exciting D2C brands.
This role is open to fully remote candidates, or hybrid if you’d like to work from our Birmingham office.
📅 Start date: December (with potential to start earlier)
What you’ll be doing
Designing D2C Shopify websites for clients across skincare, fashion, lifestyle, food & beverage
Creating low-fidelity wireframes and developing them into polished, high-quality desktop and mobile designs with prototyping applied
Participating in client workshops and kickoff calls, and confidently presenting your designs
Using tools such as Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, and analytics to inform design decisions
Identifying and troubleshooting UI/UX issues for retainer clients
Supporting internal design projects (e.g. pitches, social media) when needed
Requirements
3+ years of experience (agency, in-house, or freelance) with a focus on e-commerce
Strong portfolio with case studies showcasing quality design outcomes (quality over quantity)
Proven e-commerce design experience (essential)
Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in small teams
Ability to problem-solve and think creatively under constraints
Comfortable speaking with clients and presenting work
Able to take guidance but also confident challenging feedback when appropriate
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Clear understanding of e-commerce best practices, trends, and design principles
Proficiency in Figma
Experience working with Shopify (or a comparable e-commerce platform)
